Do you want to know what smart farm technology is available now? We have handpicked some of the most exciting farm applications, precision farming and imaging technologies and will be asking the companies behind them to pitch their offering to you.
How can we farm “smarter” and what is the role of new technologies in helping that happen? What are the barriers to helping the vision become a reality? And how can we use “open innovation” methods to help speed up the journey of new innovations into the field?
The workshop will focus specifically on technologies around aerial imaging and precision agriculture. With short presentations by a range of companies and organisations (see full list below) with ready-to-use smart farming technologies, you’ll also have input into discussions to identify the needs and opportunities of farmers and innovators to make smart farming a commercial reality. At a regional and national level we’ll be looking at how to overcome barriers to adoption of smart farming, finding the untapped opportunities, and ensuring the outputs of the discussions about these new technologies get to the heart of policy-making.
This workshop is the presented in partnership with Smart-AKIS, the European Network for Smart Farming,
Smart-AKIS has conducted a pan-European survey to better understand what technology farmers are looking for, this provides a requirements specification for entrepreneurial companies looking to enter Agri-Tech.
This workshop will provide an opportunity to discuss this further with farmers and producers, inspired by a number of quick-fire presentations from companies including:
