AHDB Beef and Lamb are currently working with the University of Nottingham to evaluate current beef Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and develop further ideas which will help beef farmers track performance and identify their business strengths and weaknesses.
Mr Bainbridge is one of the four farmers working with the project to develop performance indicators for a range of beef production systems. The beef enterprise at Donkin Rigg consists of 150 native crossbred suckler cows with youngstock finished at 18-24 months of age on home grown silage and oats. This event will be an opportunity to learn more about the outcomes of the project and discover how data collection and analysis can be used in upland suckler systems.
