Stewarding Your Soil

Stewarding Your Soil

Event date:
Saturday, January 27, 2018 - 09:15 to Tuesday, January 30, 2018 - 16:15

How to manage the beneficial organisms in and for your soil, with Dave Beecher.

This course is relevant to farmers and growers, and gardeners – and the likes of gardening/agricultural researchers and journalists. The focus of the day will be practical, considering how the soil health principles discussed apply in real life and how we translate them into practice. It will act as a good introduction for those wanting to get started on both understanding soil biology and supporting its healthy development.

AAB: Rethinking British Agricultural Systems - linking agri science to post Brexit UK agricultural policy

AAB: Rethinking British Agricultural Systems - linking agri science to post Brexit UK agricultural policy

Event date:
Tuesday, January 30, 2018 - 09:30 to 19:00

This is the third conference in the series. The meeting will bring together leading authorities on farming systems, agricultural economics, agriculture policy, agroecology, food chains and political science to explore how Brexit may be used as an opportunity to (metaphorically) pause and consider how UK agriculture might be shaped to better fulfil the needs of the British community. There will be a strong workshop emphasis and the organisers aim to use this meeting as a springboard for the production of a small number position papers aimed at UK government.

Venue: Society of Chemical Industry, 14/15 Belgrave Square, Belgrave, London, SW1X 8PS
