If you eat food, this event is for you!
This event is organised and hosted by the The Garlic Farm on the Isle of Wight. The theme is “Farm Net Positive: Carbon Balance and Biodiversity, with Profitable Production” and the event explores the symbiotic relationship between greenhouse gas emissions, biodiversity, and profitable production.
Join us at The Garlic Farm restaurant for presentations from industry experts Becky, Jess, and Neville.
Becky Willson of Farm Carbon Toolkit will demonstrate a practical but powerful tool to measure on-farm emissions and dispel myths about carbon efficiency. Jess Brooks will highlight the urgent need for biodiversity protection as an integral part of agricultural success. Neville Smith, farmer at Compton and Idlecombe Farm will share examples of balancing emissions and ecosystem services alongside production.
Whether you’re an active farmer, land manager, or simply interested in the food system, please come and help us explore how agriculture can be part of the solution to achieving net-zero goals. The topics raised will be hopefully relevant to all those who eat food!
The evening is free to attend though booking is essential. exploring the symbiotic relationship between greenhouse gas emissions, biodiversity, and profitable production.
