  • Farm Carbon & Soils – Senior Advisor

    We are seeking an experienced project manager and farm sustainability expert to join our team. The role includes the management of advisors, together with the development and delivery of projects that are providing farmers with support and guidance to measure, understand and improve on their greenhouse gas emissions.

    This is both a managerial and practical role that requires a strong understanding of sustainable and/or regenerative farming. We expect applicants to have an experience of farming that enables them to interact with and support farmers, quickly building trust and rapport.

    To support you, we can provide specialist training on-farm carbon footprinting, together with ongoing support as required in each project.

    Location: Home-based with travel across the UK including the North West and North East regions, South West and Wales. Due to current projects and other staff locations, this position would better suit someone based in the Midlands or the North.
    Salary: £30,000 - £34,000 pro rata, depending on experience
    Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours per week), part-time may be considered

  • Soil Sampler (subcontractor)

    We are seeking a soil sampler to support our work, mainly visiting farms in the South West region, taking soil samples and conduct basic tests and analysis. This is an important activity, enabling us to support farmers to improve their soil health, which in turn, helps to sequester more carbon, as well as improving water retention, crop resilience and biodiversity.

    This is a practical and highly physical role that takes place outdoors. We expect applicants to have an appreciation and interest in agriculture and an enthusiasm for soils, that enables them to quickly build trust and rapport with farmers. To support you, we will provide necessary training on soil sampling, together with ongoing support as required.

    Please note, this is a sub-contracted position, suitable for someone seeking occasional work on a freelance basis.

    We are seeking experienced farm sustainability experts to join our network of Farm Carbon Advisors. You will help deliver projects that are providing farmers with support and guidance to measure, understand and improve their carbon footprint.

    This is a practical role that requires a strong understanding of sustainable and/or regenerative farming, with a particular emphasis on soil health. We expect applicants to have an experience of farming that enables them to interact with and support farmers, quickly building trust and rapport.

    Please note, this call for applications is for subcontractors that are looking for occasional work on a freelance basis. If project demand is sustained, there may be an opportunity for future employment.

    Location: Our projects take place throughout the UK and strategically, we currently have a preference for Advisors who are placed in or around the Midlands region, who are willing to contribute to projects taking place in regions such as the North, Wales, the South West and the South East. Candidates will be expected to have their own vehicle.
    Salary: This is a contract for services. Our standard day rate for farm advisors is £250 per day, plus travel expenses, but this may adjust depending on the responsibilities within the specific project.
