Katie is a Calculator Intern and is excited to be working alongside the FCT Calculator team to update online Toolkit resources. Her passion for safeguarding food security and improving agricultural resilience was sparked at university. These interests continued to develop whilst working as a research assistant on field trials in Cambridge and studying for her research masters in Plant Sciences. She is currently a PhD student at the University of Sheffield, researching the potential impacts of silicon-based fertilisers on wheat resilience to drought. Katie grew up near the coast in Cornwall and enjoys visiting her family for dog walks on the beach.
